The Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools, through the Statistics department of the Office of Lasallian Heritage and Research, produces each year a report that gathers together the most relevant data, worldwide, on the Brothers, communities, educational works, students, Collaborators and the Associates, among others. This is the document Statistics as of 31 December 2024 of the Brothers of the Christian Schools.
In this edition, the document is organised in seven chapters which offer some general and comparative data, as well as the statistics of the Brothers by age groups – divided by Regions and Districts – the statistics of the Lasallian Educational Mission by Regions, some graphs related to the Lasallian Educational Mission by Districts, and other graphs by Districts corresponding to the year 2024, as well as some comparative statistics between 2023 and 2024 of the five Regions of the Institute: PARC, RELAF, RELAL, RELAN and RELEM.
According to the report, it is possible to conclude that on 31 December 2024 the number of communities worldwide was 529, and the Institute had 2,774 Brothers, of whom 2,485 had pronounced perpetual vows and 289 had made temporary vows.
On the other hand, 115 Brothers passed away during the past year, while 15 Brothers in perpetual vows and 17 Brothers in temporary vows left the Institute, while 26 Brothers made their perpetual profession and 41 Brothers pronounced their first vows.
In addition, as of 31 December 2024, there were 83 novices and 214 aspirants and postulants worldwide. In the case of Associates with a public commitment, the Institute counts 1,936.
At present, the Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools is organised into 5 Regions, 28 Districts and 2 Delegations, with a presence in 80 countries worldwide.
The number of Lasallian schools and educational works is 1,132; serving 1,079,091 students and attending 76,710 people in non-formal works. Similarly, a total of 187,968 Collaborators, including teachers, Brothers of the Christian Schools, religious men and women of other congregations, and priests, are committed to the Lasallian Educational Mission.
