Leadership and Connection
S. Romina Sapinoso recently spent time in Spain as part of Gonzaga University’s “Gonzaga on the Camino” program. Along the way, she walked 114 kilometers of the Camino de Santiago over six days, meeting people from around the world and experiencing the beauty of pilgrimage. Her journey also included visits to Barcelona and the magnificent Sagrada Família, time for prayer and reflection at Sant Benet Monastery, and a visit to the Basilica de Santa Maria de Montserrat to visit La Moreneta, the beloved Black Madonna. The experience is part of S. Romina’s studies in Gonzaga University’s Doctoral Program in Leadership Studies (DPLS). Through the Camino, participants explore leadership in a unique, immersive setting where each day presents new challenges, relationships, and opportunities for growth. The journey encourages self-awareness, adaptability, and a deeper understanding of how leadership is shaped through connection, community, and lived experience.
