July 6, 2025 Luke 10: 1-12, 17-20 This passage from the Gospel of Luke (Lk 10:1-12) presents to us the sending out of the seventy-two disciples who are to announce the Good News of God in the villages and in the cities of Galilee. We are the seventy-two disciples who come after the Twelve.  Who are we as disciples and how do we live out the mission given to us?  A disciple is in relationship with their teacher and imitates their teacher – in this case, Jesus.  Our mission is to listen to Jesus, to learn from Jesus and to imitate Jesus by putting into word and action his Good News.  We listen to Jesus’ call: “Follow Me” and act upon his mission.  What is the mission of discipleship and how are we called to respond? Our response as a community in mission is based in prayer, action and lived as a community.  Jesus gave the seventy-two specific instructions that were to display a particular attitude for their work in representing Jesus and His message.
