Students at Chirag Vidyalaya in Rajgir explored the importance of protecting water through art, drama, discussion and music during a program titled “Life-Giving Water: Celebrating the Season of Creation.”

Students in grades one through seven and their teachers participated in activities highlighting water’s role in sustaining people, animals and plants. The program encouraged students to recognize their responsibility to care for creation and conserve water in daily life.

In a drawing competition, students illustrated the contrast between a world sustained by water and one suffering from scarcity. Their artwork depicted life emerging from a single drop, dry land, animals and birds struggling without water, and ways to prevent waste.

Students also performed a play titled “If There Is Water, There Is Tomorrow.” The performance showed how careless habits waste water and urged the audience to protect every drop.

A group discussion on “Water Crisis: Causes and Solutions” gave students an opportunity to identify practical ways to conserve water. They shared ideas such as turning off the tap while brushing their teeth and reducing water use when washing cars. The activity encouraged teamwork and helped students practice explaining their ideas.

A general knowledge quiz covered water sources, rivers, rainwater harvesting and environmental issues. Students expanded their understanding of water conservation while testing what they knew.

Through original poetry, students described flowing rivers, rainfall and the value of each drop of water. Slogan-writing and group-singing competitions reinforced the message, using words and music to encourage conservation.

Throughout the program, students emphasized that protecting water is a shared responsibility. Simple actions, including turning off taps, using a bucket for bathing and collecting rainwater, offered ways to put that responsibility into practice.

The program concluded with students pledging to conserve water and encourage others to do the same.
